Ann Nelson
Ann Nelson joined Hope-Beckham in early 1999, bringing a variety of business skills and experience to the rapidly growing public relations and marketing firm.
Nelson’s responsibilities include public relations strategy and planning, organizational management, human resources, project management, writing and editing. In addition to financial management for the agency, she is involved with budgets and pricing for clients as well as project oversight for some accounts, especially those smaller accounts where messaging is critical.
Nelson was employed by Georgia-Pacific Corporation for 27 years. She served as operations manager for the Wood Products Sales and International Divisions where she was instrumental in streamlining systems and processes in the $2.5 billion per year business. In this capacity, she was also responsible for personnel and payroll support and provided training and performance support for more than 200 division employees. Additionally, she was the controller for the Vienna, Georgia, particleboard manufacturing facility.
After leaving Georgia-Pacific Corporation, Nelson worked as an independent consultant providing specialty services in human resource management and business process analysis, redesign and implementation.
In addition to her work at Hope-Beckham Inc., Nelson serves on the advisory committee for the Georgia’s Own Credit Union and the board of directors for the Learning Disabilities Association of Georgia.
Nelson received an MBA from Georgia State University and lives in Marietta.
